  • Discuss the word 'waterproof' and explore some materials that are waterproof and materials that are not. Write/Draw two waterproof things.
  • Talk about people who need to wear waterproof clothes from the following – Fisherman, Secretary, Garda, Teacher, Postman, Dentist, Farmer, Nurse, Firefighter 
  • Collect some natural things from outside such as moss, twigs, pebbles, clay or leaves. Fill a sieve with one type of natural thing such as pebbles. Pour a cup of water into the sieve. Count how long it takes for the water to pass through it. Which held the water for the longest and shortest time? Draw a picture of your experiment.
